Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic fluoropolymer that is known for its remarkable properties such as high chemical resistance, low friction coefficient, and high heat resistance. PTFE parts are commonly used in various industries due to their non-stick properties, electrical insulation, and resistance to extreme temperatures. These parts are often found in applications such as seals, gaskets, bearings, and components exposed to corrosive environments.
PTFE can operate across a broad temperature range, typically from about -200°C to +260°C, making it suitable for a variety of applications from cryogenics to high-temperature environments.
PTFE tubing, also known as polytetrafluoroethylene tubing, is a high-performance plastic pipe made from the polymerization of polytetrafluoroethylene monomer. This material has a highly stable molecular structure, not only does it hardly react with any known chemical substances, but it can also maintain stable physical properties under extreme temperature conditions. PTFE tubing can be safely used in a wide temperature range from-80°ºC to 260°ºC and even wider (except for a few strongly corrosive substances such as molten alkali metals, fluorinated media, and it possesses excellent wear resistance, low friction, and electrical insulation characteristics.
